NLCA History -In the spring of 2008 New Life Christian Academy became a vision when many of the parents at New Life Baptist Church in Clinton, North Carolina began having concerns about the negative influence of other schools on their children. They also had a desire to keep their children’s focus on God through Bible based teaching. Many of the parents had inquired about home schooling or transporting their children to an existing Christian school. Through much hard work from many individuals, led by Pastor Dave Page of New Life Baptist, and several miracles that can only be attributed to the hand of God, this vision became a reality very quickly.
New Life Christian Academy (NLCA) opened their doors in the fall of 2008 with a little over 20 students enrolled into the A Beka Program. Kindergarten through 12th has been offered since the first year. In the fall of 2009 NLCA nearly doubled their enrollment from the first year. They added a pre-school as well as a Girls Varsity Volleyball team and a Boy’s Varsity basketball team.
With faith and trust in God they are making plans to expand the space available to accommodate the amazing growth that NLCA has already seen. This Christian school was planned to be a ministry to the community and with that plan in mind, they are making every effort to keep costs low and affordable. Some of the students at NLCA come from outside of the NLBC church family, which is an encouragement for NLCA to keep pressing on and reaching out to families with concerns about the spiritual health of their children.
NLCA uses Ephesians 6:11 as their school Bible verse which says, “Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil”. The desire of NLCA is to make a difference in each child’s education that will last a lifetime!
